~Cottage Flower Vases and Simple & Sweet Fridays #117~

I wanted to share with you some handmade gifts I made for my friends. It was Tami's birthday and we always exchange little gifts to each other at the parties.
I love flowers,
so I decided to make a Stamped Flower Vase for the girls.
Stamping the word "flower" onto the vase,
they could use it for one rose or a bouquet of flowers in it.
I found some Jim Holtz metal plates at the craft store.
I stamped "Flower" onto some cut linen.
I torn a bigger piece of linen to go around the jar and just tied it
in a knot to secure it.
I found the jars at Walmart.
I hot glued the plaque to the linen and
then added different beads to it.
~Simple Cottage Vase~
A fun project for a vase for all your Summer Flowers...
Another added little gift to go with the Sunflower theme was some
Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds I found at Trader Joe's.
I found small round boxes at the craft store
along with small yellow flowers.
I hot glued the flowers to the box.
Then added some Sunflower Seeds from our garden that we collected last year to the boxes to make it more personalized.
Then put it all together in a clear bag.
I stamped the tags with a Sunflower on them.
~Special Summer Gifts~
I experimented with stamping a tea towel with fabric ink.
Now, I want to try making more towels,
using fabric paint.
It was a fun weekend project.

I wanted to share with you photos of the garden this weekend.
A new garden pillow for the little chair.
Love the ladybug!
A  heart filled with succulents.
Stan helped me plant succulents this weekend in a concrete heart.

Dahlias starting to bloom everywhere.

A baby bird waiting for his mother to feed him.

She found a spider for his meal.
I always love moving things in our garden.
One of my old bikes in a new spot.
Our water lilies in bloom.
So beautiful!
Amaryllis
Queen's Anne Lace
A little bouquet
Always surprises in the garden!

~Ideas for Fun Summer Lunches and Simple & Sweet Fridays~

Since Summer is right around the corner,
I was trying to come up with Fun Summer Lunches.
To make at home or have at a picnic on the beach.
I saw this idea making a Turkey Club Sandwich
using Butter Waffle Cookies.
I found the cookies at Trader Joe's.
Bought some Swiss Cheese, Turkey and Lettuce.
It was delicious.
A Sweet Sandwich Treat!
Another idea was using cream cheese and
adding thyme from the garden.
Making a Cream Cheese Crostini with Italian Ham and Asparagus,
was a hit for a light lunch.
A salad on the go using,
grape tomatoes, quinoa, spinach
and fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine).
Add some fresh herb vinaigrette
and you have your salad in one container.
~Fresh Fruit~
Fruit is always good to take with you,
especially putting it in glass containers so you can see what is left.
A sandwich using fresh rolls, avocado, turkey and spinach.

Wrapped up with a pretty cloth napkin.
Makes it a special lunch!
Don't forget something sweet!
Looking forward to the Summer!
