Romantic Hydrangeas

More than anything,
I must have flowers,
always, always~
Claude Monet
Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers.
Looking at them near this statue makes them even more stunning.
The color blue makes them look like angel wings.
The white vase compliments with the blue.
The Pom Pom hydrangea is so beautiful
and has white clusters of flowers.
This photo was taken recently of the
hydrangea starting to bud out.
Perfumes are the feelings of flower ~Heinrich Heine

The Meaning of a Hydrangea is,
 Thank You For Understanding
Hope you add one to your garden...

Planting Sunflowers

I always plant a little late for sunflowers, so this year I thought I'd start early.

I got my starter pots ready.

I went to Walmart to save some money and found what I needed.

I got my boots out from last year because it just rained in San Diego.
I bought these from Target,
love the polka dots.
I love the way the sunflower looks before you use the seeds.
BEAUTIFUL...
I planted them and now I'm waiting for the magic to happen.
Can't Wait...

Dedicated to Mom and Dad~Garage Sale Treasures

It has been one year today that I have been blogging
and I have loved every minute of it.
Meeting new friends and learning new things.
Looking forward to more dreams to come.
Thanks Carly and Justin for making it happen. Love you~

I went to a garage sale
 and found some wonderful treasures.
I  spent only $50 for all these incredible antiques.
I didn't know that Valley Farm's named an ice cream after Bing Crosby in 1953.

Found this old measuring bottle.
I added this old iron to my collection.
A 1920 label for
 Betty Ann Baking Powder.

An old Lemon Flavoring Bottle
My favorite find an old Way Rite Scale...
I love the color.

Love the old label.
Spicy Apple Waffle Recipe,
 sounds good!
Shasta Water Seltzer Bottle

The Uniform Nut Meat Chopper
It dates back to 1940-1950
Can't wait to find a special
spot for all my new treasures.
Whenever I would see my mom
on Saturdays, we would
go to garage sales together.
It was the thrill of the hunt.
Miss you mom...

Our Pool At Night

With the rain here in San Diego,
the lights on at night were beautiful...
It's nice to be able to walk on our hill,
and see the lights at different places.

My Liebster Blog Award Nomination

LIEBSTER AWARD RECIPIENT

Liebster Award Recipient

I have been busy with the holiday and moving my mother-in-law near us. When I logged in today I was so excited that Cynthia, from "Cloches and Lavender", had nominated Rooted In Thyme for the Liebster Blog Award. What an honor.
Cynthia's blog is inspired by her passion to decorate with her many Cloches, Lavender and Mercury Glass. Her love of her family has motivated her into a wonderful creative person. Thank you, Cynthia.

Liebster means favorite or dearest in German.
Apparently this award is for the little ones of the blogging world, the newbies just starting out or maybe more seasoned bloggers who have lovely things to share but have been a bit hidden and need dusting off and propping up on the shelf for others to see and enjoy, all with less than 200 followers. I hear this is how it works:

  1. Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
  2. Link back to the blogger who awarded you.
  3. Copy and Paste the award to your blog
  4. Nominate 3-5 blogs to receive the award.
  5. Inform them of their nomination by leaving a comment on their blog.
Therefore I hereby accept the nomination with gratitude and nominate the following bloggers whose comments and blogs have cheered and inspired me:
I have been following this site with her wonderful photos, living in Canada and her home named "Acorn Lane". She does fantastic work in floral design, weddings and home decor. She will inspire you, like she did me.
I love this blog header, we used it in the beginning, very cute. She has very creative ideas, loves finding her treasures at thrift stores, junk stores and Goodwill. A very fun blog...
I know Mary, she's a good friend of mine and has just started her dream blog. She's a wonderful cook and a very creative person. Even though just starting, her blog will inspire everyone to be in the kitchen .
I'm so impressed by her photographs and passion for gardening, antiques, decorating crafts. She is very creative with her projects and lives in Tokyo, Japan. She will inspire you to pick up a camera and snap away...

Vintage Books

I love reading old books.
This one was a great find at the thrift store.
The old pages make it more magical.
The illustrations are beautiful.
Finding the date in the book makes it more of a treasure.
I love the black and white sketches.

A Voyage To Lilliput.
A wonderful old story to read.
